Presentation: SAFA and Information Technology

A group of our partner faculty at City Tech put together a panel for the 2011 CUNY IT Conference, “Instructional/Information Technology in CUNY:
Confirmations and Speculations.” The professors discussed how technologies including the SAFA course sites and the new Open Lab platform at City Tech have facilitated archive-enhanced instruction and student projects, reflections, and collaborations.

My colleague Julie Golia and I introduced the SAFA program and shared examples of the materials used by students in our archives. We discussed our program’s IT challenges and shared some of our early findings concerning pedagogy and media literacy.
