Presentation: Bringing Students of All Ages to our Archives
I delivered this presentation on April 13, 2012 at the Spring Meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC) in Cape May, NJ.
I appeared on this panel alongside other Education staff from Brooklyn Historical Society in order to demonstrate the wide range of education programs at BHS which utilize archival collections.
I introduced Students and Faculty in the Archives (SAFA) and shared our goals and teaching philosophy. I spoke to the archivists in attendance about faculty collaboration, classroom facilitation, and the collection management practices needed to support our project. I also explained how SAFA impacts our institution at large, and I began to discuss project outcomes.
